taken over by high school kids!

With the exception of my wife and I there were only 3 other people at the dinner buffet part of the cruise. The rest was sold out to high school band kids! Luckily we arrived early and the maitre'd who was very attune to our unhappiness ushered us in quickly and we were able to get our dinner started before being overrun with teenagers. While this was appreciated, we did not enjoy having to rush thru dinner. We have raised our children, one of whom was also a band member, but the planned events when they were in high school were exclusive to the group. This "outing" for that size of a group should not have done with a regular event. The ship was virtually taken over by them. The small deck that the band played on had the rest of the people who just came for the jazz cruise and not... read more

    Boat Ride on the Mississippi

I was dissappointed with this cruise. Partly my fault, I should have booked a daytime cruise. We didn't see anything at night. I do feel the food could have been a whole lot better and the staff could have been a lot more friendly and more service oriented.

    Good Food

We really enjoyed the jazz cruise with dinner buffet. The food was fantastic and the jazz band was awesome. Recommend highly. The bread pudding was scrumptious.

    50/50 split

The food on the buffet, what there was, was good. It seemed there was less than what was advertised, though. I wish the lighting dimmed for "ambiance"?) and food signage would have been better. Hard to see what was what. Lighting at the tables along the outer wall was dim as well - hard to see what I was eating. I would have liked to have gone up for another helping, but the cruise was so full, that even after 45 minutes, there was still a line. The 1 dessert, white chocolate bread pudding, was great. Once outside, I was disappointed to see that the majority of the benches were wet and there was no one around (or any towels available) to dry them off. Which forced most people to the covered areas. The one disappointment, which the staff could not control, was my fellow passengers.... read more

The Cajun pasta was sooo goooood!

The paddle boat dinner and jazz tour was a good time. Good value for the money spent. I highly recommend this! My ticketing experience did not go well. I booked two different reservations about three weeks apart. The first reservation did not appear on the ticket agent's manifest; the second one did. After several minutes of confusion and a couple of phone calls the ticket agent made, I had my tickets in hand. Very tense and uncomfortable feeling to start the evening.

    Cruise plus dinner

Great dinner. Unfortunately, because it got dark early (time of year) couldn't see anything on the Mississippi River. After dinner it was boring, other guests talking among themselves. Too cold to go outside. Not worth the money.

    Good food, not much scenery

We took the cruise in late November, so it got dark quickly, limiting what could be seen from the boat. The food was pretty good, with a varied selection of typical New Orleans dishes. The music was "tolerable," to be kind to the musicians. Not bad, but definitely something that would be better experienced during days with longer daylight.

The trip is great as we'll S the food served, although there was not a great variety of food choices for a buffet. The music was awesome! The service though, was not as we expected. Servers did not look very happy in their jobs and would not pay much attention to the customers.
