Went on the Creole Queen dinner jazz cruise for my 50th birthday, which was advertised as 7:00 start and 9:00 end. At 8:15 the boat pulled up to the dock to let us off. We asked an apathetic crew member why and he said it was due to fog and he can't control mother nature. Then he begrudgingly said we were welcome to stay on until 9:00. After about 75% of the cruisers left the boat, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker that people were welcome to stay on until 9:00. We did in fact stay on while the crew cleaned the tables around us and whispered to each other about us. So, we were made to feel guilty for wanting to enjoy what was supposed to be a special family celebration. Nice.

In this, I am reviewing Tripshock and Creole Queen jazz dinner cruise. I'll start with Tripshock. I had not heard of this site before but I decided to try it out since their prices are so much cheaper than other vendors. I was a little hesitant and concerned that this was a scam, but I can vouch for this site now. I even made a mistake with a booking and had to call their customer service line and received quality and helpful service. The ticketing process was very simple. After booking through Tripshock, you get a confirmation email with a QR code. Show the QR code at the event to get physical paper tickets. Present the tickets at the dock and you're onboard. Super simple. No hiccups. I would gladly book through Tripshock again. As for the event itself, the Creole queen jazz dinner cruise was very nice. Although it was a bit pricey, I loved it. A very calm atmosphere with a nice jazz band. You can take alcohol (purchased separately) to the upper decks where you can see both sides of the Mississippi as you cruise along. In terms of food, I enjoyed it. There weren't a huge variety of food options but what they did have was pretty good. Not the most phenomenal food you will find in New Orleans but pretty decent. Wait staff was great. I would recommend this event.
