Chef Brandon was amazing, so funny, and so informative! My boyfriend and I had so much fun, and are so excited to go back to California knowing the roots of real gumbo! (And how to correctly make it!)

AMAZING

Brandon was a great 'teacher's.  He explained various options to prepare and cook Gumbo, Jambalaya & Pralines. He also included history of his LA upbringing, and background of the history of cooking in various regions of Southern Louisiana. Food was delicious and all had a good time.

Chef Rene was a great instructor for the demonstration cooking class.  Funny, historically informative and of course his jambalaya, gumbo, bread pudding and pralines were amazing!

Exquisitely Delicious

Pat, our chef for the experience was delightful. She was entertaining and gave great history of the area. She was conversational and it wasn't like she was following a script. The food was delicious and she made us all confident that we could make the recipes at home! The best part of our New Orleans trip!

I enjoyed the experience very much. Chef Michael not only showed us how to make three different delicious recipes, he gave an interesting history lesson about New Orleans and the people who settled it. It was fun and delicious.

We greatly enjoyed the tutorial and Anne's energy and stories. She is fabulous! We didn't expect to learn the history along with the food and were very entertained throughout! 

On a side note, if you want to take advantage of their gluten free option, make sure you remind everyone at every stage of the game and be prepared to sample other dishes. They are not the same as the menu items you saw prepared. If you have other allergies/sensitivities besides gluten, make sure they are discussed as well before booking. (I don't know if they can make other accommodations, but know in advance what to expect.)

Cooking Class- NO School of Cooking

Our chef Pat was just great, giving us great cooking tips as well as a history of New Orleans food culture. The whole experience was very enjoyable, including chatting with other guests at round tables. When you figure that you also get lunch, we felt it was a good value.

For me as a celiac (can't eat wheat/flour), the eating part was a bit unsatisfying. The 'dietary restriction' meal seemed to be the same for vegetarian or celiac. So I was served a veggie gumbo and a veggie creole sauce on rice. Meh. This is the only part of things that could be a lot better.

Loved this History of NOLA through Food Culture

Every year during our annual vacation, we book the 10:00 cooking school. Each year it is a different chef instructing. It is entertaining, educational, you get instruction sheets on how it is being made, then after watching the chef prepare it, you get to eat it!  You learn about local food tradition and history of the people that brought those food traditions into the area. I highly recommend this activity even if you don’t do the cooking in your household.

Can hardly wait to go back and take another class! The instructor, Pat, wove a perfect tapestry with the history of New Orleans and techniques of Creole and Cajun cooking. nice relaxing view. Good food wasnt pleased that no drinks came with the meal.

Reservations were easy. Getting tickets on the day was fast. Boring was efficient. We were greater nicely and immediately taken to our table. The bartender was pleasant. The red wine that I had was good. The white wine that my wife had was okay. The live music was very good. The cruising was smooth.

There are so many tours going on an once that it really takes away from the creep factor. Kendall had good stories, but he added way too many unimportant details and lost my attention. However, I got A LOT of pics with orbs, and even some with figures!

Too crowded, but a fun experience

Our tour guide was Fernando. He was energetic and knowledgeable. We had a group of 7 of us from Orlando and he took time to get to know us a bit. He does speak very fast which was a bit difficult at times. But that would not stop me from having him again as my tour guide if I were to go again. I highly recommend the night time cemetery tour and will tell my friends to take it when they are in New Orleans.

Fun and entertaining

If and when you book, ask for fernando to be your tour guide. He was the best one yet. Very educational and we had the best time learning about new orleans and getting spooked.
