Racial prejudice on boat
My family and I did not have a good experience. We were subjected to racial prejudice. After dinner, my family together with a white family of five that sat next to us were moved to an alternate side of the boat. About an hour later the same white family went and helped themselves to a second round of buffet and desserts. The wait staff (mainly black staff) happily served them. Fifteen minutes later I went and asked the same wait staff if I could have a bowl of soup. They gave it to me. Even before I got to my seat, an Asian wait staff who had been standing by the buffet tables and did nothing as the white family served themselves pursued me and embarrassingly admonished me for taking the soup. The embarrassment didn't end there - she went ahead to retrieve the soup bowl. I asked her if I could pay for it. She declined. She disappeared into the kitchen. When she re-emerged, I accused her of prejudicial behavior. She then proceeded to politely talk to the white family and pretended to retrieve their already empty plates. She never touched the dessert bowls and allowed the family to eat their dessert. I have since seen other reviews on yelp and other forums that depict racial prejudice on this steamboat. My family and I have vowed to NEVER patronize this boat again.

Cleo and Gina made our group feel special!

Came from Florida with a small group of girlfriends and checked out this cruise. First tip for everyone, please give yourself plenty of time to get there. Just because your Wazzes app says 20 mins ETA doesn't mean that's when you'll arrive. Traffic was bad and we were almost late for the boat. Once on board we were able to explore the boat and check out all the decks and engine room. Try the Natchez Punch and it'll make you even more relaxed as the boat glides down the river. Dinner was delicious. I am on an ulcer friendly diet and there was plenty for me to be able to eat! Our hostess Gina and server, Cleo repeatedly checked on us and took amazing care of us! Make sure when you go that you ask for them and sit in their section. They have incredible smiles and service. We felt like VIP's!
