Miramar Beach-Sandestin Area Beach Bonfire

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Where can we have our bonfire?

Bonfires are only permitted in Walton County. Beach bonfires are held at public beach accesses only. Please be sure when booking to put the address of the beach access where you would like to enjoy your bonfire, along with the requested start time. The earliest start time is 6:00pm, and the latest start time is 8:00pm.

2. Can we book a bonfire the same day we are wanting to experience it?

Anyone wanting to reserve a beach bonfire must reserve at least 48 hours before the desired day and time. This is because each bonfire requires obtaining a permit from the South Walton Fire Department. If not enough notice is given, the requested day or location may not be available, as well.

3. Are there any restrictions to be aware of?

The person booking the bonfire must be at least 18 years of age, but all ages are welcome with parental supervision! If you are staying in Rosemary Beach, unfortunately, bonfires are not permitted in that area. The nearby Winston Lane beach access would be the nearest place to have your family-fun bonfire.

4. Are bonfires a good group activity?

Beach bonfires are a fun and unique way to experience the Emerald Coast! Perfect for girls’ trips, bachelor parties, family reunions, celebrations, and so much more, everyone in your group is sure to love a Miramar Beach-Sandestin beach bonfire!
