About the Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival

The Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival is a 3-day cultural event sponsored by Nicholls State University. The regionally recognized extravaganza is in it’s 12th year of operations, and features Louisiana culture at its finest, including music, food, history, and art. The 2015 LA Swamp Stomp Festival ranked among the Top 20 Southeast Events by the Southeast Tourism Society, and with tickets starting at $10/day, and free admission for children under 12, it makes for inexpensive family fun!

And let’s not forget about the music, the heart and soul of this incredible festival. Featuring not only the celebrities that call NOLA home, but musical talent coming from all over Louisiana and beyond, you’re in for a rockin’ and stompin’ good time! 5K Can-Can and 1-Mile White Boot Waddle

Along with sultry southern tunes, the Swamp Stomp features exciting events that benefit local charities and raise educational awareness. Start your Swamp Stomp experience early by participating in the 5K Can-Can Run or stroll through the campus of Nicholls State University as part of the 1-Mile White Boot Waddle! This is the perfect way to get your heart pumping in preparation for this fun and exciting festival.

Jumbo Gumbo & Bayou Best Cook-Off

Test your gumbo against the best in Louisiana at the Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival. Join the Jumbo Gumbo & Bayou Best Cook-Off to see if your Gumbo can compete against local, regional, and out-of-state contestants. There is a $100 entry fee, and all funds raised will be used to offset the expenses of the Louisiana Swamp Stomp Festival and its free educational programs for the youth (K-12) of the area.
