GeographyTampa, Florida is located in west Florida along Florida's Gulf Coast, along the shallow estuary known as Tampa Bay. The Hillsborough River meanders through Tampa originating from the Green Swamp area. It is a less than two-hour drive from Orlando, and 4.5 hours from Miami.

ClimateThe best time to visit Tampa is from September to December when the weather is mild and less humid. The Tampa Bay area has a humid subtropical climate closely bordering a tropical monsoon climate near the waterfront areas. There are two basic seasons in the Tampa Bay area, a hot and wet season from May through October, and a mild and dry season from November through April.
