What is a Cruise Ship?

A cruise ship is a passenger ship used for voyages, where the trip itself and the ship's amenities are part of the experience, as well as the many destinations along the way.

are the routes planned?
Transportation is not the main purpose, as cruise ships run mostly on routes that return passengers to their originating destination, so the ports of call are usually in a planned region of a continent.

On-board facilities
Most modern cruise ships feature the following facilities: •Casino •Spa •Fitness center •Shops •Library •Theatre with shows •Cinema •Indoor and/or outdoor swimming pool •Hot tub •Buffet •Lounges •Gym •Clubs

Dining
Dining on almost all cruise ships is included in the cruise price, except on no-frills lines. Ships also have many bars and nightclubs for entertainment; the majority of cruise lines do not include alcoholic beverages in the rate and passengers are expected to pay for their drinks. Most cruise lines also do not allow passengers to bring alcohol (alcohol purchased off the ship is sealed and only returned to passengers when they return to their designated port) while on-board the ship.

How much can you expect to pay for a cruise ship
Cruise ships can range in price of $200+ per person, per night.
