As someone who goes to crab island frequently with my kids, I 1000% recommend going in the morning. There are several reason for this. First off, there is fewer boats out there which means more space to move around and enjoy park. Second, Crab Island waters are calmer, providing more opportunity to see fish, dolphins and other wildlife. Lastly, Crab Island can turn into a more adult-orientated destination in the afternoon especially on weekend and holidays. Nonetheless, renting a pontoon boat can ensure you can find other areas of the bay to explore if Crab Island gets too crowded or you're looking for a more exclusive experience.
