The average depth at Crab Island is around 3 feet, though some spots are shallower while others are much deeper. The center is the shallowest area, attracting most boats and visitors who enjoy wading and socializing. As you move toward the edges of Crab Island, the depth increases sharply, dropping off to 10 feet or more. The water current in these deeper areas becomes much stronger, making them significantly more dangerous, especially for inexperienced swimmers. Always be cautious and stay within the shallower, central areas if you’re planning to get out and walk around.
