Activities with limited capacity or fixed departure times are the best ones to book before your trip. Popular reef snorkeling tours, sunset sailing cruises, Dry Tortugas ferry tours, private fishing charters, jet ski island tours, and sandbar excursions often sell out during busy travel periods. More flexible experiences, such as exploring Old Town Key West, visiting Southernmost Point Buoy, touring Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum, shopping along Duval Street, or watching sunset at Mallory Square can usually be planned after you arrive. Booking your top one or two water activities in advance while leaving the rest of your schedule flexible is often the best approach.
