Although many destinations appear close together on a map, travel times around St. Pete Beach are often affected by bridges, drawbridges, and seasonal beach traffic. Driving between St. Pete Beach and downtown St. Petersburg requires crossing the Pinellas Bayway, while trips north toward John's Pass Village & Boardwalk typically follow Gulf Boulevard, where congestion is common during weekends and peak travel seasons. Instead of moving between multiple areas throughout the day, it's usually more enjoyable to pair a dolphin-watching cruise, shelling cruise, or sunset sail with nearby attractions like Pass-a-Grille Beach, Corey Avenue, or the Don CeSar, and save downtown St. Petersburg for another day.
