Florida does not require a traditional boating license to rent or operate a pontoon boat. However, if you were born on or after January 1, 1988, you'll need to meet Florida's boating education requirements before operating a vessel with a motor of 10 horsepower or more. If you book with TripShock, we make this easy by sending access to complete an online, approved temporary boating safety exam before your rental, or at the dock. You'll also need a valid photo ID, and the person renting the boat must meet the company's minimum age requirements.
