Once you're underway, you'll need to follow marked navigation channels, watch for shallow water, observe no-wake zones, and stay aware of other boat traffic. Depending on your route, traveling to and around Shell Island may take longer than it appears on a map because boats must follow designated waterways rather than travel in a straight line.
