Outside the channels, shallow water and sandbars can appear unexpectedly, so it's important to stay within the marked routes unless you're familiar with the area. Popular swimming and anchoring areas can also become crowded during weekends and holidays, requiring extra awareness of nearby boats, swimmers, and changing conditions. Before departing, the rental staff will explain local hazards and recommend routes that are appropriate for the day's conditions.
