The experience is different in each location. Choctawhatchee Bay generally offers more protected water and easier access to destinations such as Crab Island, while the Gulf may have larger waves and changing sea conditions. Some rental companies allow access to Gulf waters when conditions are favorable, while others restrict rentals to inland waterways. Available riding areas vary by operator and weather.
