Water has a way of reaching places you did not expect. Even on calm days, spray, splashes, and sudden movement are all part of the experience. I have seen visitors arrive with expensive cameras, fully expecting to get amazing photos, only to spend the entire ride worrying about keeping everything dry. Phones create a similar situation. Many people bring them for navigation and photos, but not everyone thinks about protection beforehand. Waterproof cases are helpful, but they are not magic. Anything you bring onto a jet ski should be something you are prepared to expose to a very wet environment. Something else to think about is how difficult it can be to operate a camera while managing the jet ski and staying aware of the surroundings. For the best photos, you will want to stop in a safe area and take a few minutes to focus on the scenery. You can absolutely capture great memories, but constantly worrying about equipment can take away from the experience.
