Wind plays a big role because it affects everything from water texture to comfort on the boat. When the wind is light or coming from a favorable direction, the water feels smoother and stops like sandbars or swim areas are easier to enjoy. When it picks up or shifts direction, you start noticing more chop, more movement during cruising, and sometimes a bit more spray depending on where you are headed. I have seen days where two trips on the same route feel completely different just because the wind changed a few hours apart. It also influences where captains choose to go, since they will look for more sheltered areas if conditions are less ideal.
