It comes down to how much control vs structure you want during your time on the water. A pontoon rental is the most flexible because you set your own pace, choose where to anchor, and choose how long you stay in each spot, but it also means you are responsible for navigation and timing. A guided dolphin cruise removes that stress and turns it into a set experience where everything is handled for you, so you just show up and enjoy the ride. A boat tour sits somewhere in between, depending on the style, sometimes structured, sometimes more relaxed, but still guided by a captain who knows the area well. If visitors want freedom and are comfortable managing a boat, they go on a pontoon. If they want zero decisions and just want to experience the water, they go on a cruise.
