In Orange Beach, certain channels and open areas stay pretty active throughout the day, so even if you are kayaking, paddleboarding, or floating, you will still notice wakes rolling through from passing boats. It is not unsafe in most cases, but it does change the feel of what is expected to be calm water. The timing of it matters as well. Mid day is the busiest since there is a steady flow of boats heading in and out of marinas, which creates more movement on the water surface. Early mornings are quieter, while late afternoons can go either way depending on the weather and return traffic. I have seen people move just a short distance and suddenly have a completely different experience, even though they are in the same area.
