Guided tours remove decision making entirely, so you do not have to think about navigation, timing, or where to go next. That makes the experience feel more relaxed for a lot of people. Self guided rentals give you freedom, but that freedom comes with responsibility and constant awareness of conditions and traffic. I have noticed visitors sometimes overlook how mentally active it can be to run your own boat or plan your own route. On the other hand, tours can feel restrictive if you want to stay somewhere a bit longer or change direction. If you want to just experience the water, a guided tour fits better. If you want control and flexibility, rentals make more sense.
