Yes, you can absolutely have fun here. A lot of the experience does not have to involve busy attractions at all. Early morning beach time is an easy way to enjoy Myrtle Beach without crowds, and later in the day, you can stick to relaxed walks, smaller restaurants, or places that are not right in the heart of the busiest areas. A lot of people think the whole area is always packed, but that is not the case. It is the timing and location that make a huge difference. You do not have to fill every hour with activities either. Some of the best days are just beach time, a good meal, and a slow evening walk.
