Okaloosa Island provides convenient access to Choctawhatchee Bay, East Pass, and nearby Gulf waters, allowing many dolphin cruises to reach productive wildlife areas within a relatively short time. Depending on the route, tours may travel through calm bay waters, the pass, or into the Gulf while looking for bottlenose dolphins and other coastal wildlife. Its location makes Okaloosa Island a convenient departure point for several types of boating excursions.
