It really depends on the type of experience you are looking for. If you want the best value, a larger sunset cruise is a great choice. You will usually pay much less per person, the boats often have restrooms, snacks or drinks, and there is a fun social atmosphere with other families and couples enjoying the evening. On the other hand, if you are celebrating an anniversary, proposing, or simply want a quieter experience, I think a private sunset charter is the best choice. You can choose who comes with you, the captain can often customize the route, and you never have to compete for the best spot to watch the sunset. Many private captains will even spend extra time looking for dolphins or stop in a calm area so you can enjoy the view without feeling rushed. If you have 6 or more people, a private charter is often more affordable than they expect once the cost is split among everyone. For couples or smaller groups trying to stay within a budget, a shared sunset cruise is usually the better value. Either way, you are going to experience one of the most beautiful sunsets on the Emerald Coast, so there really is not a bad choice. It simply comes down to whether you prefer a group atmosphere or a more personal evening on the water.
