During the fall, daytime temperatures in Destin are often in the 70s or 80s, but by the end of a sunset dolphin cruise it can easily feel like the 60s, especially in October and November. Even on a warm afternoon, the combination of the breeze across the water and the boat's speed can make it feel 10 to 15 degrees cooler than it does on land. I recommend bringing a light sweatshirt, windbreaker, or thin jacket, even if you do not think you will need it. It is much easier to take an extra layer off than wish you had brought one once the sun disappears. I have seen plenty of people board in shorts and a Tshirt thinking it would stay warm, only to borrow a sweatshirt from someone in their group before the ride back to the marina. My advice is to dress comfortably, but throw a light layer in your bag just in case. You may never put it on, but if you do, you will be glad you brought it.
