Key West in the middle of the day can feel pretty intense, so the trick is sticking with things where you are either on the water or getting some breeze. Boat tours and dolphin cruises are usually the easiest win because once you are moving, you get constant airflow, and that makes a huge difference compared to walking around Duval in the heat. Even if it is humid on shore, it feels way more comfortable out on the water just because you are not standing still in it. Snorkeling trips can still be good, too, but they feel better when you are actually in the water instead of sitting in the sun for long stretches. Another option is just grabbing a shaded waterfront spot or doing a shorter cruise instead of anything long and drawn out. I have seen people try to power through walking tours or shopping in peak midday heat, and they usually end up wishing they had just gone out on the water instead.
