Key West is located next to North America's only living coral barrier reef, making snorkeling experiences very different from those along the rest of Florida's coast. Instead of focusing primarily on clear sand-bottom waters, many Key West snorkeling trips visit coral formations, tropical fish habitats, sea fans, sponges, and other reef ecosystems found offshore.
