Many visitors describe Key West as having a Caribbean feel because of its tropical vegetation, pastel architecture, island pace, Cuban and Bahamian influences, open-air bars, and warm climate. While it remains distinctly Floridian, the island's history and culture create an atmosphere unlike most destinations elsewhere in the state.
