Santa Rosa Beach offers opportunities to see wildlife both on land and in the water throughout the year. Bottlenose dolphins are frequently spotted offshore, while sea turtles nest on local beaches during nesting season. Great blue herons, osprey, pelicans, snowy egrets, and other coastal birds are commonly seen around the dune lakes, marshes, and beaches. Visitors exploring Point Washington State Forest or Topsail Hill Preserve State Park may also encounter deer, gopher tortoises, and other native Florida wildlife.
