Many visitors associate Santa Rosa Beach with "Old Florida" because of its preserved natural landscapes, low-rise development, towering pines, coastal dune lakes, and neighborhoods that blend into the environment rather than dominate it. Instead of large resort corridors, much of the area features beach cottages, state parks, winding roads beneath live oaks, and independent restaurants.
