Wind in the afternoon around Miramar Beach and Sandestin does not really shut things down. Boat tours are still one of the best options because most captains already know how to work around it. If it is windy in one area, they will usually stay in a more protected bay area where the ride feels a lot smoother. So even on a windy day, you can still get out on the water without it feeling rough or uncomfortable. Pontoon rentals can also still work well as long as you stay in calmer, more sheltered areas. Once you anchor or slow down, the wind is not nearly as noticeable as it is when standing on the beach or walking around in it. On land, you still have plenty of options as well. Grabbing food, walking through Baytowne Wharf, or just hanging out indoors for a bit and waiting for the wind to settle later in the evening all work fine.
