A boat tour is the easiest starting point. Everything is handled for you, and all you have to do is show up and get on. The captain is running the route, watching conditions, and pointing things out along the way. If it is your first time on the water around Miramar Beach or Sandestin, that takes a lot of pressure off because you are not thinking about where to go or how to navigate anything. You will have a sit back and enjoy it kind of experience. When it comes to a pontoon rental, you will have more freedom, but it also puts you in charge of the day. You can cruise, stop, swim, and stay out as long as you want, and a lot of people love that aspect when they are a little more familiar with the area. But for a first visit, there is a lot of decision making is involved, especially with traffic on the water and finding good spots to anchor.
