The best setup is usually beach in the morning, then a mid to late afternoon boat tour or pontoon ride, and then back to the beach or a sunset spot afterward. Another option is to stay close to the same marina or beach access point where your boat tour leaves from. You can spend the first half of the day on the beach, then walk or take a short drive to your boat check in. That cuts down on driving and keeps everything in the same general area. Pontoon rentals are the most flexible because you can do both in one outing. You go out, cruise, find a sandbar or calm water spot, and then you will get beach time in the middle of your boat day. A lot of people end up anchoring and swimming, which gives you that same beach feeling.
