Traveling with kids and grandparents is actually one of the easier situations on Hilton Head because there are plenty of activities that do not require everyone to be super active to have a good time. A dolphin cruise is usually at the top of my list because everyone can simply sit back and enjoy the ride. The kids stay entertained watching for dolphins and other wildlife, while the grandparents can relax without having to walk long distances or keep up with a busy schedule. After that, spending a few hours at the beach works well since everyone can enjoy it in their own way. The younger ones can play in the sand or splash along the shoreline, while the older adults can stay comfortable under an umbrella and still be part of everything. Harbour Town and Shelter Cove are also great places to wander because there are places to sit, restaurants, ice cream shops, and plenty to look at without feeling like you have to cover a lot of ground. I usually tell families not to stack too many activities into 1 day because someone always ends up getting tired before everyone else. Instead, pick 1 main activity, leave time for a relaxed lunch, and keep the afternoon flexible. The families I see having the best vacations are the ones who give everyone room to enjoy the day at their own pace instead of trying to squeeze in every attraction.
