Many visitors divide their time between the two because they offer completely different experiences. Downtown St. Petersburg is known for museums, waterfront parks, restaurants, breweries, shopping, and the St. Pete Pier, while St. Pete Beach focuses on Gulf beaches, dolphin cruises, watersports, and a slower coastal atmosphere. The short drive between them makes it easy to enjoy both during the same vacation.
