The drive between downtown St. Petersburg and St. Pete Beach is relatively short, but travel times can increase during spring break, weekends, holidays, and around sunset when beach traffic is heaviest. Many visitors choose to spend a full day at either the beach or downtown instead of making multiple trips back and forth.
