If you are visiting Destin during the summer, you will usually have several chances each week to see fireworks. The biggest tradition is the weekly Thursday night fireworks over Destin Harbor at HarborWalk Village, which typically run from late May through early August. Just a few miles away, The Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin Resort also hosts weekly Tuesday night fireworks during the summer, giving visitors another great option. In addition to those weekly shows, Destin puts on larger fireworks displays for holidays like the Fourth of July, when several locations around the area celebrate with special events and extended shows. If you are spending a week in Destin during the summer, there is a good chance you can catch 2 or more different fireworks shows without much effort. I recommend planning at least 1 evening around a fireworks cruise because seeing the display from the water is a completely different experience. The boats position themselves just outside the safety zone, giving you an incredible view with the fireworks reflecting across the harbor. In my opinion, it is one of the best nighttime experiences in Destin and something I recommend to anyone visiting during the summer months.
