Most public fireworks cruises in Destin last between 1 and 2 hours, with 90 minutes being the most common length. The trip is timed so you have plenty of time to cruise through Destin Harbor, enjoy the views with the last light of the day, and get into position before the fireworks begin. Once the show starts, the captain will usually idle or anchor just outside the safety zone so everyone has an unobstructed front row view. After the fireworks end, it is just a short ride back to the marina. Some specialty cruises, like private charters or dinner cruises, may last 2 to 3.5 hours, but if you are booking a standard public fireworks cruise, you should expect to be on the water for about 90 minutes.
