Closer than most people expect, but not directly underneath them. Fireworks cruises position the boat just outside the Coast Guard safety zone, giving you an incredible front row view while still maintaining a safe distance. The fireworks are launched over Destin Harbor near HarborWalk Village on barge near the East Pass, and the captains know exactly where to idle for the best perspective. From the boat, it feels like the fireworks are exploding almost overhead, and because you are out on the water, you have a completely unobstructed view with the reflections lighting up the harbor around you. I have watched the show from both land and a boat, and there is really no comparison. Onshore, you are often looking over crowds of people, while on a boat you have a clear view in every direction. Most captains arrive in position before the show begins, so there is no rushing around once the fireworks start. Instead, you can sit back, enjoy the evening, and watch the entire display from one of the best seats in Destin. It's a must do for first time visitors.
