Most dolphin tour boats do have enough space for small bags and a personal cooler, but it is usually more “compact storage” than wide open room, so it depends a bit on the size of the boat and how full the trip is. On standard sightseeing boats, you can usually bring a small backpack, tote, or a soft sided cooler, and there will be a designated area where you can tuck it out of the way, often near your seating area or in a shared storage bin. The main thing is that they want to keep walkways clear, so anything you bring needs to be easy to slide under a seat or set beside you without blocking movement. If the boat is on the smaller side or fully booked, space can feel tighter, not because you cannot bring things, but because everyone is trying to store similar items in the same shared areas. That is why soft bags and smaller coolers are much easier to work with than hard sided or oversized ones. What I usually tell people is to pack like you are going on a short beach outing on the water. Bring what you actually need for a couple hours.
