Yes, tipping your captain or crew is customary for good service even when you've already paid for a private charter. Gratuity is not always included in the advertised price, so check your booking details before departure. Many Destin charters, however, do require a specific gratuity dollar amount or percentage of the total at the dock, paid via Cash, Venmo, PayPal, etc, and separate from the charter price on the listing. If optional, the appropriate amount can depend on the level of service and the type of charter, and some operators may provide a suggested gratuity range. Bringing cash can be convenient, although many captains also accept electronic tips.
