Because much of the dolphin habitat around Orange Beach is estuarine bay water rather than the shallow Gulf water visitors see from the beach. Freshwater influence, sediment, depth, tides, bottom composition, and weather can all change water color. Darker water does not mean the bay is dirty or poor dolphin habitat.
