Your boat has probably dragged anchor, which is exactly why you need to monitor it even while everyone is swimming. Wind, current, wakes and an improperly set anchor can move a pontoon surprisingly quickly around Orange Beach. After anchoring, watch fixed landmarks to make sure the boat isn't drifting, and never have the entire group swim so far away that nobody notices the vessel beginning to move away independently. If you're inexperienced with anchoring, have the rental staff demonstrate it before departure.
