No, do not use regular driving directions as your primary navigation tool on Orange Beach waterways. Roads on a phone map can help you understand where you are geographically, but they don't reliably tell you about navigational channels, shallow water, no-wake zones, restricted areas, submerged hazards, or where the rental company actually allows its boats to go. Before leaving, have the staff show you the approved boating area and explain the navigation equipment or map provided with your vessel. Water that looks wide open can still be too shallow for your rental boat.
