The current around Crab Island somewhat matters on a Jet Ski. On a Jet Ski, you have power and steering, so you are not usually fighting the current the same way a pontoon does when it is trying to anchor or hold position. The water around Crab Island can move more than people expect because it sits near the pass, and when the tide is running, you may drift faster than you realize if you are just sitting there.
