If you drift or ride a little outside the rental area by accident, the best thing to do is slow down, turn around safely, and get back inside the approved area. Most companies understand that visitors do not know the water perfectly, especially around Destin where the harbor, Crab Island, no wake zones, and the pass can feel confusing the first time. With that in mind, they do take boundaries seriously because some areas have stronger current, heavy boat traffic, or places where jet skis are not supposed to be. A lot of rental companies keep an eye on their jet skis, either by staff watching the water, tracking equipment, or visual boundaries that they explain before you leave. If you go way outside the area, ignore instructions, or head somewhere they specifically warned you not to go, they may call you back, end the rental, charge a fee, or hold you responsible if something happens.
