Most rental companies do not want you pulling a Jet Ski up onto the beach. It usually needs to stay floating unless the staff tells you there is an approved place to stop. Jet Skis pull water through an intake, and sand, shells, grass, or little rocks can get sucked up or damage the bottom if you run it too shallow or beach it the wrong way. That can turn into an expensive charge quickly. Around Destin, there are also areas with swimmers, private property, and boat traffic, so they do not want renters guessing where it is okay to land. If you want to stop for a minute, ask the crew before you leave what your options are. Some may say you can idle in certain areas, some may tell you not to stop at all, and some may have very specific instructions for staying in deeper water.
