You can ride as a group, but you do not want to ride right beside each other. Most rental crews will tell you to keep a good amount of space between jet skis. Jet Skis can turn quickly, people slow down without warning, wakes can push you around, and beginners sometimes panic and overcorrect. You can stay together and keep each other in sight, but you need room to react if the person ahead of you slows down, falls off, or turns wider than expected. The exact distance depends on the company’s rules, the riding area, speed, traffic, and water conditions. In busy areas near Crab Island, the harbor, bridges, or no wake zones, give even more space because boats, pontoons, and swimmers may be around you as well. If you want to check on each other, slow down in a safe open area instead of cutting across someone’s path.
