Sunglasses can work, but only if you have a strap on them, because once you pick up speed or hit a little wake, anything loose can disappear fast. I would not wear your favorite expensive pair unless you are okay with the idea that they might end up at the bottom of the bay. Cheap sunglasses with a floating strap are the safer move. Hats are usually more trouble than they are worth on a jet ski. A regular baseball cap may stay on while you are idling, but once you start moving, turn your head, or catch wind coming across the water, it can fly off. Flip flops are another thing I would leave behind if you can. They slide around, fall off, or end up stuffed somewhere while you are trying to climb on and off. Barefoot or snug water shoes are much better. The common items you will need are a swimsuit, secure sunglasses, sunscreen already applied, and maybe a waterproof phone pouch if you need it.
