A safe window is 45min to 1hr before check in when staying outside the Destin Harbor area. From Miramar Beach or Sandestin, the drive to docks near HarborWalk Village is only about 9 to 12 miles, but Highway 98 traffic turns that into a longer ride during summer afternoons. Parking near the harbor adds another 10min to 15min on busy days, especially when Crab Island trips, dolphin cruises, and dinner traffic overlap.
